Aryn Bowlby-Safranek, M.S., LIMHP, LADC, LPC
My name is Aryn, and I have been a therapist for almost 20 years. I have an undergraduate degree in secondary education with a specialization in psychology. I later graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1998 with my master’s degree in Counseling. I have a varied background with experience in drug and alcohol counseling, mental health, educational services and case management. I use that broad spectrum of experience to work with clients as a dually licensed therapist, doing both mental health and drug and alcohol work.
Currently, I work with many different client groups to include children, teens, adults, couples and families. I primarily use cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused and motivational interviewing approaches to meet individual needs. My areas of expertise include anger management, improving self-esteem, drug and alcohol education and sobriety skill development, managing grief and depression, and dealing with past trauma. In addition, I can meet the needs of those in diversion and probation programs, including completing drug and alcohol evaluations, initial diagnostic assessments and providing therapy.
My focus is to help individuals realize their ability to change and develop skills in order to meet their goals in life, as well as help individuals, couples and families learn how to function better in order to have a safe relationship, family or home. I work best with clients who are open and direct and have motivation for change.
