Michelle Oczki, M.S., LIMHP

Michelle Oczki, M.S., LIMHPI believe that each person has an innate ability to be happy and successful. My role is to assist you in realizing that potential. I teach solution-focused skills that individuals, couples and families can use in the real world. If you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD or relationship issues, I can help. I enjoy working with couples to rebuild trust and improve communication, and with individuals on reclaiming their happiness.

My style in working with clients is active (I won’t just nod and listen) and laced with humor when appropriate. I believe every client has within them innate strengths that can help them overcome their problems. We’ll collaborate on the challenges you are facing, and I will give you feedback to help you capitalize on your strengths to reach your counseling goals.

So why did I choose to become a counselor? In some ways, I believe the profession chose me. As a kid, I was often the “peacemaker” amongst my friends, had a natural inclination to find humor in life, and loved working with ideas and possibilities. I now use these skills to help my clients. In the ninth grade, I was made a peer counselor by the school counseling team. This sparked my interest in psychology, and I decided to pursue it as a career.

I received my master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1998. Prior to founding Envision Counseling Center, I gained valuable experience working in hospitals and outpatient counseling agencies. I specialize in depression, anxiety, couple’s counseling, and relationship problems. I am certified in EMDR, a specialized therapy that can treat PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias and many other issues. I am excited to be able to offer clients EMDR, as many have benefited from this treatment, when other types of therapy haven’t been successful.
